I mean evangelism that takes the gospel across, ethnic, linguistic, and geographic boundaries, that gathers churches, and teaches them to obey everything Jesus commanded
— p. 35

Hello Ordinary Readers,

Andy Johnson gives a short and sweet book on missions. I appreciate its biblical foundation and application of preparing, sending, and being missionaries. I think his chapter breakout summarizes his book well, so enjoy a blog post that is basically just me giving you his chapter outline and few quotes!

  1. A Biblical Foundation for Missions

  2. First Things First

  3. Sending and Supporting Well

  4. Getting the House in Order

  5. Healthy Mission Partnerships

  6. Reforming Short-Term Missions

  7. Engaging the Nations by Other Means

I think this is a good read for everyone, but especially for pastors to think about how to lead their church to send and support missionaries. It is also a good resource to read with other pastors or members of the church.

Happy Reading!
